Certified Art Therapist

As an art therapist, I continuously seek ways to learn and grow in my profession. It brings me joy to facilitate clients in discovering their inner strengths, coping abilities and unique characteristics. Art therapy is personalized; each client is unique; therefore, sessions are specially tailored for the needs of each client.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Art from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and a graduate-level Diploma from Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. I strongly believe that as an art therapist, I can impact others’ lives through art using the latest art therapy and counselling practices. The practicum practices have allowed me to gain experience in working with a wide range of clients. For example, I have worked with children, adults and seniors suffering from PTSD, bereavement, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, cancer, other life crisis, depression, anxiety, physical disabilities, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

As an art therapist, I bring compassion and empathy as a foundation to each session. “As patients share their struggles, I learn. Not only do I hold their pain and frustration, but I also get to share their joy. And when they hope it sends rays of light through my dark days” (Brown, 2008, p6.). Everyone deserves a secure space where their voices can be heard and are free to express their emotions, whether positive or negative. My goal is to provide a supportive, trustworthy and safe environment for my clients and guide them through personal journeys using art mediums.
